NAACLS independently accredits educational programs at the associate, pre-baccalaureate (certificate), baccaluareate, post-baccalaureate (certificate), master's and doctoral degree levels in the United States and internationally for the following professions: medical laboratory science, medical laboratory technician, pathologist assistant, diagnostic molecular scientist, histotechnologist, histotechnician, cytogenetic technologist, doctorate of clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory assistant, and phlebotomy.

NAACLS has two sponsoring organizations - American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) and American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) - and three participating organizations - Association of Genetic Technologists (AGT), National Histotechnology Society (NHS), and American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA).
